Based between New York City and Berlin, Germany, Analisa Teachworth is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice includes painting, sculpture, and digital media, including sound, video, and installation. Teachworth’s distinct and artistic world-building is diverse and versatile in craft, tying personal experience to allegorical histories and unknown futures, constructing an intimate, unique material lexicon. Through her investigation of materiality and form, her artworks examine relationships between spatiality, place, and experience, noting the artist’s upbringing in the abandoned landscape of post-industrial Detroit, USA, and her Caribbean, Puerto Rican ancestry. She often focuses her methodologies onthe mythology of being vs. displacement, home, aftermaths, and power. Through practice, research, writing, and conversations, her work explores collective awareness, contextualizing creation threads while vivifying the void’s emptiness.
