Shaan Bevan
b.1990 California, USA
Based in the Montagne Noire, Southern France, Bevan works primarily with painting, drawing, writing and installation as a method of processing her personal history with disease and chronic illness, while exploring expansive modes of healing.
Across her work, she attempts to reimagine bodily phenomenologies within a network of Earth systems, complex ecologies and material histories, with a goal of transcending a reductive empirical understanding of the material self within clinical healthcare environments.
